Mrs. Guice is a nationally certified Speech Language Pathologist, licensed as the same in Georgia and holds multiple teaching certificates in Georgia.  Her expertise and passion for childhood social communication development means that she provides her clients and their families the most up-to-date and effective family-centered treatments.   She embraces the opportunity to serve children and their families as they seek a positive quality of life developing, restoring or augmenting their ability to communicate in a variety of settings.

Mrs. Guice returned to school following her son’s communication impairment.  She holds both a Bachelor of Science, including a minor in Elementary Education,  and a Master of Arts in Speech Language Impaired. She earned the honor of Summa Cum Laude throughout her college career at Eastern Michigan University

She worked in schools in Michigan and Georgia gaining extensive experience in child development and academic curriculum, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of a vast variety of communication impairments and disabilities.  In 2003, she opened Essential Communication, Inc.  Since then Mrs. Guice has worked with hundreds of families in the Atlanta area, the southeast and internationally providing family-centered communication development treatments that help children achieve academic, social and ultimately professional success.

Mrs. Guice has presented research at the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) convention, received multiple ASHA’s ACE award (Award for Continuing Education) and was nominated two times for Teacher of the Year.  Mrs. Guice has completed training in Lindamood-Bell’s Learning Processes, including Seeing Stars™, Lips ® and Visualizing and Verbalizing® approach for improving reading comprehension.

Mrs. Guice has extensive experience working with clients on social cognition and the concepts of Social Thinking ®.  She has received a Social Thinking ® Clinical Training Level 1 Certificate of Completion, as well as Story Grammar Marker ® Certification.

She was the first RDI® Program Certified Consultant in the state of Georgia, was RDI® certified from 2005-2011, as well as, an RDI® Supervisor from 2006-2011.
